Struggling with Headaches?

Osteopathy For Pain Relief

There are many reasons for headaches - most of which are not serious and are simply in response to tension or strains in the muscles and joints of the neck, shoulders and upper back.

During the first consultation, we will take a full and detailed case history and if we feel further testing are required, we will run any appropriate neurological tests. These tests will ascertain whether a referral for appropriate scans are necessary. If this is the case, we will explain the situation to you to make sure you are fully informed at every stage. If no further tests is required and the diagnosis is a simple postural muscular issue - which is very common - we will then go on to treat your headaches.

Osteopathy can help relieve headaches by treating the muscles around the head, neck and shoulders as well as by improving the mobility of the joints in the neck and upper back. Osteopaths also assess and advise on possible postural changes which may be one of the causes of the tension and strains in the muscles and joints.
