Restore scar therapy

WHAT IS SCAR THERAPY?

Scar therapy is gentle treatment with great results. The RESTORE method has been developed by the UK's leading scar therapy teacher and Harley Street scar specialist, Emma Holly. RESTORE scar therapy method is used within the NHS and leading private healthcare providers. A course of treatment is usually recommended but a single session and self-care advice for you to follow at home can be helpful

WHAT DOES SCAR THERAPY DO?

RESTORE scar therapy treatment can help care for your scar and the underlying tissue. We can focus on issues related to a surgery or trauma injury such as:

  • Pain after surgery or injury
  • Limited movement or tightness, pulling or puckering
  • Fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions

A RESTORE scar therapy appointment in the first 6 months after a scar is created is really helpful (even if you are not experiencing any unwanted complications) but it's never too late to benefit from scar treatment.

This very specialised treatment stimulates change to scar tissue on the skin surface and to adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissue.

It reduces common symptoms, such as pain and sensitivity and promotes functional and cosmetic improvements after surgery or injury.

WHAT DOES SCAR THERAPY INVOLVE?

Your appointment will include a special scar massage - at the right pace and pressure to suit you - plus useful advice for caring for your scar at home.

WILL MY SCAR VANISH?

No, we can’t make your scar tissue disappear. Results vary and early treatment is recommended for best cosmetic improvements. It’s never too late and old scars can benefit as well.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTERWARDS?

RESTORE scar therapy has been developed to stimulate the bodY’s natural healing processes in order to create changes in scar tissue. This will usually leave you feeling relaxed and may give a sensation of lightness and mobility at the end of the appointment. Some people feel tired. Just listen to your body in terms of post-treatment activity.
